Description: For our paper lesson, we created masks. This assignment was very interesting because we had four different sections of the mask that we had to make our own. We were tasked to create the mask using at least four different media. Such as crayons, colored pencils, markers, and oil pastels. After we had colored our mask to our liking, we switched two of our facepieces with our table partner. Then we had to cut our four pieces into two organic and two geometric shapes. To finish off our piece, we had to include 2 facts about Picasso as well as a notable difference in your table partners and your own artworks.
Extension: An extension activity that could be done with this art assignment could be writing a story about the image you created and sharing it with your class. Due to the image being made out of shapes and looking less than the usual norm, I believe the students could come up with some cool and fun stories to share how the image became what it is and more.
