Footprint Introduction

Description:
Our first project was a Footprint Introduction to the class. For this project, we had to include three different types of mediums on our footprint. The idea behind this project is to find objects or drawings that best describe who we are and to include them in our footprint. I chose a pink footprint and used a black permanent marker to write my name. I drew an airplane by my name and the images as I love to travel. I have been to some pretty cool places like New York City and Spain and would love to explore more. I included a photo button of my little sister as she is my only sibling and I hold her near and dear to my heart. I then added blue tissue paper to symbolize water and my love for the river. Lastly, I added a construction paper baseball, basketball, and volleyball as I have always enjoyed sports, especially those selected as I was in them in my high school year.

Extension:
There is a number of ways a person could do this footprint activity. One idea that I had is that students could present their footprints to their classmates, professionally and accurately. Another idea I had is that students could write about what they selected to put on their footprints. In both of these ideas, the students would still create a footprint like the one shown above, but then just do the next activity after. In doing so,  it would help me get to know my students better and help their classmates get to know each other better too.
